Class: Exempt (Full Time / Salaried)
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

OVERVIEW OF ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Finance Specialist will oversee the development and day-to-day control of all budget and finance functions of the church. The incumbent will be held accountable to ensure that those functions are performed in accordance with GAAP accounting procedures, the church policies and procedures, and the direction of the Chief Financial Officer. Specific authorities and authorizations will be delegated by the Chief Financial Officer to enable the Specialist to perform their responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares corporate financial statements in QuickBooks on a timely basis.
• Creates and maintains a series of financial controls and procedures in accordance with GAAP accounting.
• Conducts periodic audits of budget items, including comparing to actual expenses and other budget-to-actual comparisons.
• Provides relevant financial information to the Executive Team.
• Oversees and takes responsibility for all financial procedures and records.
• Maintains corporate checking accounts and uses bill pay to handle timely processing of approved invoices.
• Responsible for accurately maintaining various QuickBooks records and journal entries to adjust the general ledger.
• Generates monthly reports as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.
• Performs other related duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experienced in Church Finance Administration.
• Ability to create and manage corporate budgets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as
budget creation and analysis software.
• Excellent managerial skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and takes initiative.
• Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies.

EDUCATION:

Reports to: Lead Pastor

The Executive Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the Lead Pastor and the designated Ministry Director(s).

OVERVIEW OF ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provides high-level administrative support and assistance to the Lead Pastor. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Performing clerical and administrative tasks including drafting letters, copying sermon notes, preparing memos, reports, expense reports and other documents.
  • Arranging travel and accommodations, as needed.
  • Scheduling/attending meetings on the Lead Pastor’s behalf as needed, taking notes and recording minutes.
  • Receiving incoming communication on behalf of the Lead Pastor, reviewing contents, determining importance, and summarizing/distributing contents to the appropriate team members.
  • Provides leadership to build relationships crucial to the success of the organization, and manages a variety of special projects for the Lead Pastor, some of which may have organizational impact.
  • Performing various administrative office tasks, including preparing meetings, communications, maintaining a busy meeting schedule, pulling metric reports, and more.
  • Greeting and hosting guests of the Lead Pastor, preparing welcome gifts, and exemplifying the culture of the church in your interactions.
  • Support of the Lead Pastor as President of the Board of Directors.
  • Using discretion when communicating, leading, and facilitating meetings, understanding that confidential information will need to be distributed responsibly.

OVERVIEW OF ACCOUNTABILITIES:
At the direction of the Facilities Manager, performs upkeep tasks such as repairs and carpentry to ensure overall cleanliness of the church facilities. Responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems, ensuring facilities are tidy and functional and fulfilling ministry related carpentry needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform minor fixes and repairs under the direction of the Facilities Manager. 
  • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
  • Occasionally install appliances and equipment.
  • Provide basic grounds maintenance support.
  • Routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, restocking supplies etc.
  • Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm).
  • Assists in building security, locking all doors and shutting off interior lights as directed.
  • Notifies Facilities Manager of need to order supplies or need for repairs.
  • Assist in daily setup and break down of events when necessary.
  • Perform duties related to special events when needed.
  • Fulfill facilities carpentry needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Being reliable with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Live a Christian life following Christian conduct.
  • An understanding of and commitment to The Local Church’s Vision, Mission, Values and DNA. The Local Church must be your home church while employed.
  • Must be flexible with hours and job responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in a similar position.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
  • Carpentry skills.

OVERVIEW OF ACCOUNTABILITIES:
At the direction of the Facilities Manager, performs upkeep tasks cleaning to ensure overall cleanliness of the church facilities. Responsible for the facilities visual appearance and providing all event support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform facility cleaning activities i.e. dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, etc.
  • Perform minor fixes and repairs under the direction of the Facilities Manager. 
  • Garden/Grounds Keeping by mowing lawn, collecting trash and palm branches, etc.
  • Perform duties related to special events.
  • Provide staff presence at all off hours events.
  • Secure building following all off hours events.
  • Check functionality of safety systems (i.e. fire alarm).
  • Notifies Facilities Manager of need to order supplies or need for repairs.
  • Assist in daily setup and break down of events.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Being reliable with a keen eye for detail.
  • Live a Christian life following Christian conduct.

Class: Exempt (Part-Time, 20 hours Weekly)
Reports to: Worship Pastor 

Essential Functions:

Execute Programming for the Weekend

  • Work with Worship Pastor to program Lights, Visuals, Audio, and Special Elements for the weekend.
  • Schedule and communicate with the serve team through PCO and make sure all positions are filled for the weekend. Plan 1 month in advance.
  • Troubleshoot various systems if needed.

Lead Production Volunteers

  • Invest in and train serve team members in the various AVL systems.
  • Build a culture of excellence and health within the team.
  • Make sure any new additions to the team get connected to community within the ministry.

Stage Management (Along with Music Director)

  • Make sure all equipment is properly placed and wired including microphones (Vocals, Drums, Guitar amps, etc.), keyboard(s), drums, any special/extra instrumentation.
  • Make sure to completely figure out any special stage setups in the planning stage.
  • Keep the stage clean of any garbage.

Equipment Management

  • Maintain equipment and work with Worship Pastor for repair (Projectors, Lights, Audio, Cameras).
  • Fine-tune and adjust equipment as needed week to week.
  • Make sure equipment is up to date with software and is running at optimal performance.
  • Maintain volunteer workspace clean.

Vision and Development

  • Develop better systems to improve guest experience, visually, sonically, and interactively.
  • Research and develop new strategies to make in service production experience more effective.
  • Work alongside Worship Pastor to ensure new systems are in sync with the vision and direction of the church.

Stage Design

  • Work with Worship Pastor to develop stage designs for future seasons.
  • Work alongside Creative Team and Worship Pastor to execute design elements.
  • Work with Music Director to organize fixtures, stage adjustments, and band placement.

Class: Exempt (Part-Time, 10 hours Weekly)
Reports to: Worship Pastor

This position fulfills The Local Church’s mission to connect local people to Jesus and one another by producing, with excellence, broadcast directing for all live broadcast and in-house services or events at The Local Church in Davie.

Overview of Accountabilities:
This is a key technical role in supporting our Broadcast services at The Local Church. Working in a small multi-skilled team, the main duties are; first-line maintenance of a range of Broadcast & Audio Visual equipment, operation of technical equipment in the control room, web streaming services (encoders, switches, etc), and identifying issues and establishing workarounds and technical solutions to problems as they arise. The Broadcast Producer will join the Worship & Production Department in sharing the live experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Directing/switching broadcast video responsibilities.
  • ProPresenter media content input and editing.
  • Attends weekly meetings with the team.
  • Schedule weekly broadcast video team.
  • Ensures general production, maintenance, and organization of all broadcast video systems.
  • Recruits, trains and oversees volunteers for broadcast video & audio needs.
  • Directs leadership, volunteers, and contract labor in the use of broadcast video systems at events.
  • Works closely with Leadership Team to determine needs and follow up by scheduling equipment and personnel for events.
  • Confirms broadcast video & audio is of high quality for broadcast.
  • Ensures operation of video consoles during services/events.
  • Oversight of video capture with the intent of distribution to IMAG, LiveStream, & campus distribution.
  • Suggests methods and equipment to make broadcast video systems more effective. 

Requirements:

  • Have the ability to direct in a live church environment with multiple cameras
  • Train and lead a team of camera operators
  • Understand all aspects of live broadcast and be able to produce and direct a live event
  • Have an understanding of ProPresenter
  • Have an understanding of audio mixing principles
