Take Your Next Step
Following Jesus is a journey, and baptism is an important next step along the way. When you choose to be baptized, you’re publicly sharing what God has already done in your heart. It’s a way of saying that your old life is behind you, you’ve been made new in Christ, and you’re choosing to live differently because of Jesus. You don’t have to have everything figured out or have a perfect story. If you’ve made the personal decision to follow Jesus, baptism is an opportunity to take that next step in obedience and celebrate your faith alongside your church familia. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
When + How Can I Be Baptized
Baptisms take place during the third weekend of every month at The Local Church, which means you can choose the service that works best for you. You can be baptized during our Thursday 6:30 PM service or during any of our Sunday services at 8:30 AM, 10 AM, 11:30 AM, or 1 PM. Once you register, our team will connect with you before your baptism, walk you through what to expect, and make sure you feel prepared for the day. Then, during the service you select, we’ll get to celebrate your decision together as a familia.
A public declaration of a new life.
Simply put, baptism is an outward expression and celebration of an inward decision to put your faith in Jesus. Baptism represents what Jesus has done for us through His death, burial, and resurrection. When you go under the water and come back up, it symbolizes leaving your old life behind and stepping into the new life you have through Christ. Baptism itself does not save us; salvation comes through Jesus. Instead, baptism is an act of obedience and a public declaration that you have chosen to trust Him and follow Him with your life. It’s your opportunity to let your family, friends, and church familia know, “I belong to Jesus. I’ve been made new, and I’m choosing to follow Him.” If you’ve already made the decision to follow Jesus but haven’t been baptized yet, this may be your next step.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Matthew 28:19
